She was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. In spite of being raised in the United States, her family used Tamilian at home. She started learning classical music when she was 5 years old. She also has a interest in English music. Vidya was bullied a lot times because of her Indian culture. She used to hide when she was a child, but became confident of her Indian roots.
After being graduated with a B.Sc. in biological sciences from George Washington University, she moved to India for 2 years to learn music. She debuted with her Youtube channel in 2015 and soon become popular and called as “mashup queen”.
